I like Skrillex, but his setup for live show's is fucking weak. A table with his mac, a beatpad, and tables. That's it.

I saw him twice. Once was enough. The second time I tried to see dillion francis and he was taken over by skrillex and 12planet. I payed for a skrillex show i guess. So repetitive. Such shit.

I agree that his live shows setup is weak but not because of his gear. he just doesn't do a good live show honestly. In my opinion he just isn't that good of a performer.Because he thinks he has sick style but he doesn't he is type of dude that needs to be off the wall and he is boring other wise. Nosaj thing is like 100x sicker than skrillex and he only uses this... and he is just a dope performer he isn't off the wall but he has so much style.

And this sounds about right. Most mainstream music isn't about artistic quality and skill anymore, its about who can get the biggest crowd. Which is extremely sad. I cant even stand listening to the bigger radio stations anymore they're so pathetic. Thank god for university radio.
 
False. According to beatport Skrillex makes dubstep music. Most of his songs are at 140 bpm which is dubstep. Some of his songs are Electro-House which is 128 bpm.
 
It's hard to say. His music has been thrown under the dubstep label based purely on its tempo and drum patterns, and funnily enough those are basically the only characteristics it shares with music that properly defines the dubstep genre. Mid range cack, brostep...call it whatever you want. Anything but dubstep.
 
Skrillex has a sound that is very similar to a blinder filled with ball barrings. If thats music then so is a cat getting hit by a bus.
 
I hope he gets it, and the universe samples his acceptance speech as a buildup for the greatest drop ever, and as he says thank you, his head implodes and creates a small black hole, sucking everyone at the Grammies into it. except for the good musicians.
 
Grammys are a load of absolute bullshit anyway. They call Mumford and Sons rock and foo fighters metal LOL.
 
No, it's based on other stuff, but I don't think you'd classify a song at 128 bpm as dubstep or drum n bass.
 
In my experience nobody really seems to like the music now a days, but the artists of today's modern music still continue to make tons of bank. ME NO GET

You realize that there was decent aspects of this in the electro scene years ago.

Now it's just a massive trend by people who know nothing about music to throw themselves into anything whomp. Seeing bassnectar and pretty lights headlining festivals makes it pretty obvious that somethings wrong with the world.

It's not a "movement", it's a trend by the noobs for the noobs

For anyone who likes progressive types of music u should be happy that he is making this portion of the industry more recognized. I know I know mainstream is for followers and getting a Grammy is basically a transition to mainstream but look at it this way... We want skiing to get more recognition but we bitch when xgames isn't set up to be won by the guy who isnt'more stylie but the one who can spin or flip more. The contests and awards are set up to entice the masses not the die hard fans who actually understand what any variation of dub cork is or know what it was if they saw it. The gapers would be like was the a double barrel role? But the sad fact is they are the ones spending most of the money just like all the mainstream radio station listening retards that are picking the Grammy nominees. So if we want our interests to become more socially acceptable or popular u have to take the good with the bad and stop complaining about mainstream. Just remember we are all mainstream about something and when it is ur passion u truly become hip about that passion. I bet nobody is really into watches but some people would be like" o that guy is so lame cuz he has a Nixon watch on omg the motion is so shitty and the materials are cheap and from china...what a fucking mainstream idiot if he only knew how lame that watch really was....."
