yo guys my brother is lookin for a ski, hes fairly big 6'1 220 lbs. and he asked me for some advice on skis to look for. i told him to look at the line influence 105, armada tst, or something with an all moutain waist size. so im asking you guys what would be a good all moutain ski for him. we ski the pnw, crystal mt. specifically .

as always +k for good responses

oh my bad he probs in between a 2-3 skier, he is traditional skier he does not need a twin tip, he is an all mt skier, he will most likely ski with my dad and my uncles. we have some steep faces at Crystal and lots of groomers.

Twin tip is always the way to go anyways IMO. I have Lib-Tech Freeride NAS that are awesome. The line blend is also an awesome ski. The line prophet and influence series are sick sticks as well from what I've heard. And the ON3P Jeffrey are incredible also

considerin his weight i wldnt go for something as soft an playful as the line blend. the line prophets as u suggested are more along the right 'lines' and as the other guy said^ k2's side- line skis may be a good choice.

tbh there are a tonne of options that wld suit from a variety of brands, just a case of narrowing down and finding best deal

He's a big guy so you'll want something fairly burly.... Blizzard Cochise springs to mind, also some of the Volkl range like the Gotama, Katana, Mantra?

influence 105, blizzard cochise, volkl mantra/gotama, moment bellafonte, so on and so forth, at his size i'd definitely recommend something with some metal in it

I'm selling some brand new influence 105's from last season, 186cm, from what you've been saying it would probably be a good fit

not to butt heads with you but from what he said as his skier type something in the high 170's would be good for his brother, especially skis with flat tails.

atomic theory is a good choice. stiff, but not too stiff, 87 underfoot, camber with alittle bit of early rise. i know its twin tip, but i sold a pair to a customer yesterday who says theyre about the same skier as your brother.

nah, newschoolers really just has a hard on for overly large skis. something about a direct correlation between dicks size and ski size, this also applies to DIN settings. It's the skiers equivalent to wearing shoes that are too big for you.

at any rate, if he were to go with something like a cochise (which has a flat tail) and him being between a 2 or 3 type skier (an absolute expert is actually a 3+) a mid to high 170's ski would be the sweet spot for him. twin tips you need to size up on because of the additional tip which shortens running length, the influence 105 in only a half twin, the rise on the tail is only 30mm or so, so you don't have to size up as much. so someone who's in between a 2/3 he'd want a ski that turns easier, so a shorter ski will have a smaller turn radius, and will weigh less.

A 1-3 scale. On Saturday we went up skiing and he demoed a 184 sfb and a 184 Cham 97, I will pick his brain in about a half hour and see which one he liked more. Also he doesn't want to break the bank on what skis he buys

*186 Cham. But he said he liked to playfulness of the bacon and preferred the bacon all around. Though he did say the Cham skied real well in the chopped up snow but he said he got bucked into the back seat on them often. The day that we had was a very soft snow day which I think he preferred the bacons. And again +k for answers

I have some tst's and they are a great all mountain ski but with quite a bit of early rise in the tip, you can ski them in powder just as well as any other powder ski
