Skis For Dad

Alright I used the search bar don't worry. I saw a couple threads that were about this and I read them, but i didn't feel like the question was the same so that is why i am making this thread.

So here's the question,

my dad would like new skis, he currently has some older parabolic skis and he is progressing and getting back into just regular skiing after not skiing for 25 some odd years, so his skis now are like a 70 under foot and he is really stressed when he skis. which means he does not relax and does not have a proper stance, as a result he ends up feeling off balance and unsteady when he skis.

so i got him P10 bindings at a swap since its all he really needs. And i was thinking about the Line Prophet 90 or 100 but most likely 90. Does this seem like a reasonable ski and appropriate ski for my dad so that he will have a sturdy ski on his feet and something that will help him stay up and be able to plough through massed potatoes type snow(heavy spring snow).

Is that an appropriate ski? any other suggestions?

Thanks NS

Even though the Prophet 100 has more shape and a tighter turning radius than the 90, I think just the sight of a 100mm waisted ski will be overload for your pops. I say stick with 90mm-ish skis like the Prophet 90 or the Salomon Lord or Rossi Phantom 87. All three of those will be great all-mountain shred sticks for a guy who has been away from the sport for a while and only familiar with a 70mm waisted ski.

My dad likes the K2 Seth. But I'd say the prophet 90 would be a killer ski for your dad. They are pretty stiff though, and less forgiving.

alright thanks everyone sounds good

thanks for replies +k both were good

i thought of the prophet because hes not a go hard skier like he isn't out every weekend skiing but he wanted something that would keep him up on his feet in all conditions and was more all mountain oriented rather than a park specific ski

i have a pair of 173 Salomon X-Wing sandstorms i'll sell you for 350 with bindings.they are good all mountain skis, they're like those gaper skis but fatter. 96 mm under foot, but still turn good on hard stuff.

volkl bridge.

92 underfoot.

its probably the best ski ive ever been on when it comes to all moutain performance.

not sure if they still have them or not but the Rossignal B92's were amazing all mountain skis esp is he wasn't going off piste too much but preformed really well in variable terrain.

Volkl AC50's and 40's are great skis for that crowd. I got my Dad on

some and he loved them. Noticed a total change in his skiing. He was

ripping on them. Awesome all mtn ski.

I don't see the point in buying a twin tip for someone like your dad,
