Skis for christmas, HELP

So after three years of funding my ski ventures on my own, my parents have decided that skis and bindings for christmas are an appropriate present.

I want to get some good skis that will last, but at the same time I need to be somewhat concerned with price.

I have skied on 09' 169 k2 silencers with px12 jibs for three years now, and they are delamming, edges tearing out, and the bases are totally shot.

I ski mostly park, but I love shredding the pow and trees whenever it comes down and I happen to be at the resort. (Screw you east coast winters!)

The only thing i've even really considered is the 2012 domain with free 10 din binding that the house boardshop is selling. For the price, $575, this setup is definitely around my appropriate range.

It seems like an awesome soft jibby ski, and flat camber definitely interests me.

So my question is this, should I go with this deal despite the limitations of having a 10 din binding? And potentially being stuck with a 169mm ski again? I currently ride at 8-9 din all around on my px12s and am concerned about not having a large enough din range as I continue to progress.

I'm 6'1, 165 lbs athletic build.

Some other concerns of mine are that I need a longer ski than what I have been riding since I started skiing, that a ski like the domain will fall short outside of the park, and that I am potentially missing out on a whole range of ski flexes. IE: stiffer skis

I have tried in vain while browsing for skis thus far to find a park ski from a few years past that would fulfill what I am looking for, and it seems like my only options are for new full priced skis.

I need some help NS! Only a few days left to pick a ski in time for christmas delivery, I may seem set but any and all input is appreciated!

The domains are a killer ski, I reluctantly sold my last pair, demoed others, but then mounted up a second pair. They ride well all over for me despite what others say. No durability issues whatsoever and I got them at a steal aswell. I'm 6'2 and ride 179's and wouldn't of minded a longer length. Definitely go for 179. Centre mounted they ski shorter teamed with the job rocker. As for bindings I have sth14 drivers but I'm 190 lbs. personally I would like a higher din but that all comes down to your riding

**jib is there anyway ur shop could kinda part ex the price of the bindings for something with a more suitable din range for you??

We've got free 2-day delivery on all orders placed before the weekend. That will get your skis in time for Christmas. If you need some advice or talk about some options, give us a call. 866-541-7787

If you ski at 8-9 you def should not be skiing on a 10din binding, it will end up being a huge disappointment

sick ski, but yeah you definitely need a burlier binding and a longer ski size. I'm 5'8 and ride 181 park skis. it is mostly all about preference and mounting point, but for a guy thats 6'0 at least, you need a ski in the 180s for sure. At least upper 170s

If you're bindings are fine, PX12s are fucking dope, so just buy better skis flat, then throw the PXs on them. That's what I'm doing this season. I'm 6'1", 185lbs and I only ski a din 8 or 9 in the park, just because I don't want to rip my knees apart at 16, having said that, I do 80% of my skiing somewhere close to or outside the gates, so I'm not too great of a park skier.

I would but i've had some pretty explosive releases during my short skiing career.

Had to sign that release waiver last time I got my bindings remounted at the shop.

I guess something I didn't emphasize enough in my first post that 600 is all I can spend on skis and bindings.

I'm really struggling to find the deals on the internet, and I don't know where to look in real life.

Would love to go with the domain but I can't find any 179's

TL;DR for this whole thread, need new skis, new bindings, can't find THE DEALS!!

You could also look up Bluehouse Skis. They make ridiculously good stuff and you can get them for not that much. Try looking up the MR, Monarch and Antics.

At 6'1", 169 might be pretty small for you, so I'd recommend something bigger, around the 180 range. Anyways, if you're looking to through some fresh bindings on them skis, I'd look Armada el rey's plus good bindings for $575. If you have px12's in line for free, I'd look AR7's or Line Chronics, or Kennedy's at a similar price point for free bindings. These are more big-boy skis that you could use all across the mountain. Any ski and binding combo at that point is more likely to be a specialty park-type thing

check out the joystick these skis, there are some other cheapish skis out there that are awesome too. then if possible, go to a used ski place, thriftstore, craigslist, whatever, buy some old skis that happen to have pivots. and they ya go. i do this all the time. most ive had to spend was 180 for some almost new fks 155's mounted on shitty skis. ive found p12's and p14's newish condition for like 50 bucks.

I got 179 cm k2 iron maiden edition revivals, and rossignol axial 2 xl bindings.

520$ total, I feel like a bandit with the deals I found

thanks for all the tips
