Skinning without touring boots

Me and my friend both do it. We just have normal boots with marker dukes/barons. It works fine for what we do.

You can certainly do it but it won't be much fun on longer tours. Not being able to straighten your leg will make you fatigue faster and you may also end up crushing your toes as your foo will get pushed forward as you try to stand up. So for short little skins yeah you can do it but for longer treks you will be wanting a differnt boot pretty fast.

I only got my first walk mode boots last winter. It's not a big deal for short tours, so save some money and just go for it.
