StartFragmentSo I have startedskiing with music in the background more and more whether or not if I am skiingwith friends or on my own. However, recently my earphones broke and so need tobuy some more and thought I might as well buy something that will be good forskiing too.I was wondering whatpeople recommended as I usually ski with a helmet, goggles over or underdepending on the day. I personally have always found in-earphones get pulledout as soon as you start spinning, so…Spark notes: Earphones v Headphonesunder Helmet v Helmet Built-InSpeakersEndFragment

I use the built in headphones because as you said, the external headphones get ripped out to often

its all personal preference really. usually helmets with built in headphones are pretty shocking. i bought a cheap protec helmet and customised the earpads with some skullcandy lowrider headphones and they are pretty decent but i prefer either buds, get some that actually go into your ear (better sound and don't fall out so easily) or skulcandy icons. not so good with a helmet but perfect with a hat.
try some out see what you think...

ive pretty much tried them all, heres my opinions

earbuds- hate them, shitty sound quality and uncomfortable. ive also heard a horror story of a kids breaking and getting lodged deep into his ear.

speaker helmets- hate them. I hate a hi-fi audio a couple years ago, sound quality sucked and the first time i hit my head the speakers cut out. and its something gapers wear a lot.

headphones- i have had 2 pairs skullcandy lowriders and have riden with a huge pair of sony ghettophones. sound quality is easily the best. just drop them over or under your goggs if you dont wear a helmet or do what i do. I weave my goggle strap through the part where the speaker connects to the frame, so the frame goes parallel to my gogg strap, then i put the whole contraption under my helmet. super comfortable, puts the speakers right on my ears, and fits just like a gogg strap under my helmet. im currently making it work with lowriders, bern baker, and ISDesign goggles. what goggs you use shouldnt make a difference as long as they have a buckling strap. lowriders will work with anything, done this with c-bars and phenoms too.

i use the giro shiv w/ the tune ups and they're amazing. simply amazing. they're skullcandy tune ups, so the sound is good. i dunno about other helmet brand tune ups but giro ones work greatttt i would highly recommend it. most comfy as well
