skiing with mono

skiing with mono...can it be done? has anyone skied hard with mono? x-qualies are coming up, and i am indeed going to compete. i am just getting over mono...i think..and the doctors have told me not to ski. i just dont really want to chance rupturing my spleen.

hahah, last year i was in my shop and this guy, we call 'backcountry tim' (he skis on our little 300ft hill with a backpack full of gear and has a mad old school style) came in to inquire as to where he could buy a mono ski. I saw on the extreme channel some guys tearin it up on mono skis, doing 360s and backflips.

 
Dude Id sit it out so you dont fuck up the rest of your season.........

well...i leave for tahoe tomorrow morning. im really debating whether or not i will compete...but im going for sure. and this is andy mahre, not andy stewart

 
i just got cleared to ski a few days ago, but i skied wiht mono. it just depends how bad your spleen is. as long as you are a skier who almost never crashes and are safe you can probalby go up and crusise, thats what i did. but i would stay off the jumps, if you rupture your spleen youa re pretty much screwed

You just have absolutely no energy. I had it last fall and after you get over the sick part you're just always tired. At first it seems kinda cool to stay home and play video games, but it gets really old really quick. And then even when you feel better you can't do stuff or else you'll relapse. I remember the first few times I went to a party after I felt better, I still went home at like 10 cause I was so tired. Luckily, I missed XC season and not skiing.
