Skiing with a friend...

Hey guys. I need an answer to this soon, so any help would be appreciated.
This winter I'm going to Steamboat with a friend of mine. We're good friends and we'll probably have a lot of fun. I've personally been skiing for 8-9 years and have done a little bit of competitive racing, some freestyle, and I can pretty much take anything on the mountain. The problem is, the friend I'm bringing along is not as advanced as I am. He's been skiing for 5 years, but he has only skiied in Virginia and Pennsylvania. In fact, he hasn't taken very many lessons outside of our ski resort in Virginia, but he's a decent skiier and can handle all blues, some blacks. He can keep up, but he's missing some technical aspects of the sport. What are your guys's thoughts? Should I try to teach him a little bit myself or hand him a couple videos from instructors?
Thanks!

Well you just said he can ski runs and keep up so what's the problem? Let him go at his own pace.

If he asks for tips go for it but you don't want to be patronising

Depends, I've got some friends that absolutely HATE when I try and help them out. Others listen and do well taking direction. I'd say just see if he can keep up for the first hour or so. If he can't, ask him if he wants you to give him a few pointers. If all else fails, there are multiple ways down to the same point of the mountain. If he can't keep up, send him down a different direction.
