Skiing with a friend...

Hey guys. I need an answer to this soon, so any help would be appreciated.
This winter I'm going to Steamboat with a friend of mine. We're good friends and we'll probably have a lot of fun. I've personally been skiing for 8-9 years and have done a little bit of competitive racing, some freestyle, and I can pretty much take anything on the mountain. The problem is, the friend I'm bringing along is not as advanced as I am. He's been skiing for 5 years, but he has only skiied in Virginia and Pennsylvania. In fact, he hasn't taken very many lessons outside of our ski resort in Virginia, but he's a decent skiier and can handle all blues, some blacks. He can keep up, but he's missing some technical aspects of the sport. What are your guys's thoughts? Should I try to teach him a little bit myself or hand him a couple videos from instructors?
Thanks!

get some one else to come with you. tell him you're going to ski on your own a few times. I'm sure he is a big boy. Get him working on park stuff if he's up to it. He'll stay plenty busy.

if he can keep up with you i don't see too much of a problem. You could always just tell him you want to take a few runs on your own, too. If he's willing to learn, find a way to teach him. If he thinks he can handle, let him. If he's holding you back... go back later and tell him you'll meet up with him later.

hope you have fun!
