Skiing timberline in the winter

Anyone enjoy skiing timberline in the winter? I’m debating getting the fusion pass (t-line and skibowl) but the map is lookin a little mid. I love skiing there in the summer but idk if it’s worth it when Palmer is closed lots of days. Any insight? Don’t want to have to ski meadows again but might have to.

Also looking for shred buddies! Thanks.

If you only ski park, it's great. If you like to ski the whole mountain then it's pretty mid. Palmer is a no go during the winter. Not missing much anyways as it's usually blocks of ice and chicken heads. When Ski Bowl is on.....IT"S FUCKING ON! But it's so hit or miss due to elevation.

Best pass combo is Meadows Full Access, Ski bowl night pass, Timberline Spring Pass.

Vibes at Meadows can be a bit weird sometimes but it definitely has the best terrain. I know their prices have been increasing as well as their crowds.
 
Grew up at hood. Meadows has the worst vibe. Like It has always been that way

Get the meadows value pass, go to tline on clear days for freestyle and meadows on all pow days. Say no to working banquets, put your foot down. Dont let shae get you.
 
Was new to the area last fall and bought meadows full pass and t line spring. The one pow day at meadows I caught had beyond fucked traffic so I’m going fusion this year. I figure I’ll mostly ski bowl since it looks like it has actually steep terrain (not a park rat). Hmu on here if you want to ride, also looking for ski buddies
 
Fusion pass. Timberline has a few little steep spots. Not many but groomers galore and the park is always top notch. And it's fun to ski to gvcp and take the bus back up

Ski bowl has the best steep terrain on the mtn. Imop. But as stated before. The altitude hampers it .

Meadows is Meadows. Shit vibe. Kinda wonky area layout.

And Cooper spur is just goddamn cute

No matter what, if you're late you're late, and there will be traffic. You either deal with it on 35 or on T-line access road. Peak season I try and be in the lot by 7.
 
Damn it’s so nice to have other people agree that meadows feels hella off. Feels like a podunk attempt at vail or something
 
Meadows vibe has increased quite a bit the past few seasons imo. Ever since jibmasterchris took over the park builds, the parks have been sick from day 1 to ldoh, also park crew are all homies. Timberline parks are usually well maintained but they've lost a lot of the creativity they used to have, also the cats have eaten some of the best rails (s rail, francis + the big flat down, timmy tube, lodge rails, starship, and more). Lift lines at meadows can be pretty annoying when the upper mountain isn't open but at least you'll get a parking spot in one of the 4 lots as long as you aren't totally blowing it. Timberline's lot will fill up before 8am on a decent weekend day and good luck getting up there when it does. Skibowl is obviously the sickest so definitely get at least a night pass there, upperbowl on a pow day is wild and Casey + crew have been killing the tow setups.
 
Why all the hate on Meadows? I've been there a handful of times and have always enjoyed it. Wondering what I missed..

I think it's just the most "corporate" feeling of the resorts on Mt. Hood. Timberline and Ski Bowl especially feel at bit more homey and less stick up the ass vibe. Idk, good days at Meadows are fucking awesome though, parks have been sick and the terrain is fun, the three seasons I was there I was finding new stuff/terrain every one of them.

I pay zero attention to the "vibe" of the resort or the NPC's at Meadows. I go there to ski terrain. I know who the like minded and stoked people are and gravitate towards them. Everyone else is just white noise.

2001 I got a Fusion Pass and put about 60 days in. Timberline bored me to fucking death. It was an interesting change after a decade at Meadows. But it was a good reminder of why I stopped skiing T-line.
 
The "it's bad vibes at meadows" comments are self fulfilling prophecies. If you're looking around thinking you're going to be upset, you'll probably end up upset.

There are definitely a few people I see at Meadows that I don't vibe with but same thing goes when I've spent time at Timberline. Just laugh about it. There are entitled, spoiled, uncool people at every hill, including (insert your favorite mountain with the best vibe).
 
I have had so many goddamn good days at meadows. In fact the first time I skied downhill at age 4 was at Meadows on the long gone rope tow..

Can i accurately explain the bad vibe? Not sure. But the mountain layout lift wise is a bit wonky. Before yellow got upgraded. You had express chair. Or blue chair next to it. Even now you have to walk to stadium (yellow). Walk to daisy if it's running or walk

Up to vista . And hrm and shooting star feel disjointed in a way. And that place ( all of hood for that matter). Can get some fucked weather.

Maybe it was growing up in West Linn and you either went to Meadows. Or you went to the "other places"
 
Mile & Palmer don’t run in the winter so if ur only trying to ski park that’s good and hope for cold temps for ski bowl

Couldn't agree more- the vibe is just a reflection of yourself. Meadows layout is crazy, parking is wild, the entire "easy" half of the mountain closes when it's windy, and the buttercup lift replacement is an all-time management blunder, but if you don't like skiing meadows when it's good... you just don't like skiing.

It's so lame to me that they replaced buttercup when you have Daisy languishing there and it has potential to service so much more. A Daisy quad could replace 2 lifts and move so much more traffic on that side of the hill.
 
Tline is more fun in the winter than summer terrain wise. Meadows has better terrain. Ski bowl has some sick terrain up top. Elevation is lower but if it's cold it goes. Ski bowls rope tow park is pretty fun. Meadows usually has a pretty solid park.
