Skiing resorts in France...

Hey guys, I'm going to be in Paris for a month, and I was wondering if anybody knew some resorts to ski at in France that would still be open it July. Thanks

Tignes and Les Deux Alpes. Get the TGV to Bourg St Maurice from Paris and then take a bus to Tignes, or TGV to Grenoble then bus to L2A.

Yeah, Tignes would be your best option but it's not close to Paris- a good few hours on the train...

Yeah if you're going for park; L2A is much much better than Tignes; but Tignes is a nicer place in the summer with a real nice lake and stuff. Deux Alpes is a bit of a shithle at the best of times.

You could also think about heading north to nouex les mines; the massive snowflex place.

Les deux alpes has a better park but tignes is a better place because you can do this

Only problem is that the water is straight off the flacier and is absolutely freezing , and if you go slightly wrong it hurts so bad

Thanks guys, does anyone know if they have legit gear at these places? I don't really wanna bring all of my stuff from home

yes they have dont worry.

also hte thing is that rental skis are never center mounted. but if you dont mind then it s fine.

if you re going to les deux alpes tell me we could take a big flat with other newschoolers.

^I wouldn't be so sure of that man- this year I broke my binding on my park skis in Tignes rented some volkl walls which had never been ridden, centre-mounted. I guess the guy in the shop is kinda a friend of a friend but still- sure they won't have non-symettrical centremounted skis (but i think that's retarded anyway), but it shows that if they stock something like walls and if you can speak french and explain exactly what you want, then it's possible. I guess what I mean is that if they do have good centred park skis, they'll most likely only have a limited number, so they might not want to rent them to people that either don't try to speak french, or look like a gaper.

but yeah, there will be plenty of places at any resort to rent.

Dunno where you got that idea from. I was in Val D'Isere this winter and they had plenty of center mounted skis.
