Skiing-related christmas presents

so my friend's girlfriend wants my help picking out a christmas present for him. theyve been together for a long time and she wants to spend around $100.

her first idea was goggles, but she knows nothing about them. i sent her goggle pages from spy, smith, scott, and oakley, and showed her like 3 frame models and a bunch of designs from each. i tried to explain that goggles are a bad idea because people like to pick their own- its kind of an identity/self expression thing. she then asked about bindings (yes, bindings) and jackets. i explained why those were bad ideas.

then i suggested gloves. i sent her links to spyder, hestra, and dakine. i tried to explain how everybody whos really into skiing loves a good pair of gloves even though we all buy cheap shitty ones that soak through and only last a season for like $40. she was totally turned off by the idea. i should add that she was also turned off by a combination of movies and apparel adding to $100.

so anyway, is there a ski-related category that i havent thought of, or should i pretty much steer her away from skiing in general?
