Skiing on my own

Hi,

I was just wondering what the best way to convice my parents to let me go to the park by myself is? Ill be staying in Andermatt so its just one lift to the park. They seem convinced im going to break myback or something. Im 15 just so people know.

Thanks Callum

yeah you're out of luck OP. All resorts now require you to ski with a parent in the park if you're still a child.

Really? Even in europe?

I've repped in Europe for a few years and I never seen them check on any park in France or Austria. Which resort are you heading to? Only park I have ever seen keep a bit screen off is the pro line in ValT or the Super pipe in Tinges but thats really for comps and filming.

To Andermatt the park is called G Park, any ideas of how to convince my parents?

You can't, if you are under the age of 18 you aren't allowed in it without a parent, like they said above!

i literally cant tell if everyone above are trolls or not, cause where i ski nobody cares. I very rarely ever see parents in the park.

I live in Minnesota and there are no rules you need a parent in the park or to even get a ticket. If your on your own and you gonna be in the park if you do get hurt there are people around you can get help so it's no different than being with someone. If you were in the backcountry skiing cliffs I would disagree, but your in the part of the mountain that has the highest concentration of people.

Just tell them you have a group of other kids you ski with in the park so it seems like you're with other people so its not as bad

Your there and you want to ski park? why? the park sucks, and one lap takes like 20 minutes, cause the park is like 200m out of a 2km run. I dont see the point. Theres so much other shit to ski,and theres like a 300cm base up at Gemsstock. Reports even show theres 15cm fresh up there.

Yeah I know, im gonna be skiing off piste as well. Just id like to do some park laps too. Cant really say that, we go as a family group and I know no one there.

Is this for real? If it is, you need to make this stop.

I think I started skiing by myself at 10? Maybe even younger? I had no idea there were 15 years olds out there with such protective parents. Run away from home and smoke meth. That'll show them that you have a brain and are capable of living a life you choose. You're not their trophy.

Perfectly put! My 10 and 12 year olds ski together alone constantly

First time i skied alone i was like 7 and my dad let me take runs and i would check in with him at the base in between runs and on like the third one i helped these to smokin autrian chicks who didnt know how to ski on ice (first time skiing in the us and east coast) and i brought them down and the came to my dad and told him how wonderful i was and how wonderful he was. So ever since then ive been skiing alone whenever i want.(im 16 now)
