Skiing on art

Went exploring this afternoon and found what seems like a super cool urban spot. The graffitti art on it look sick and the concrete blocks provide a handful of lines to hit. No idea who the artist is but they did a steller job. What are the ethics to akiing on this? Dissrespectful to the artist or fair game. Keep in mind this is on public lands and not a marked piece of art, its just there.

Kinda looks like a bunch of smaller throws/tags?

If it was like a full mural I’d say skiing it would be pretty disrespectful (literally scratching off the artists work) but I feel like part of graffiti is repetition and expecting it to be temporary so this is probably fair game.

Looks super fun!

It does look cool on the rocks and all, but don't worry

not to shit on/discredit the artists or whatever but majority is toy stuff so no biggie

A lot of the best spots are "art installations" so I'm going to go ahead and say that no one will care if you hit some graffitied rocks off in the woods.

tagging rocks or anything organic is fucking lame and completely misses the point of graffiti. fuck this “artist.” who cares what they think.

Its an old concrete foundation of some sort. No rocks that large end up on top of a sand dune naturally.

I mean look at how many actual art installations and sculptures are jibbed. Sliding some shitty graffiti in the woods should be fine.

If/when we get snow here I'll give it a go and see if I can get someone better then me to hit it too.

If this is public land, FS or BLM, then it's defacing.

So rip it up good. With a thin layer of snow, be sure to sweep off the rock so everyone can see the illegal art.

Stellar? IDK about that, but it is colorful.

Bring us a video or you gonna' be in trouble here.

City park actually. Just over that ridge is a marina and below it is a parking lot.

Yea, that's typical. City park. Kids having fun. You better make a video before the city cleans it up with your tax dollars.

100% go for it. Graffiti and street art are meant to be weathered/changed as their environment changes. If I were to just stick a painting on the street that's not street art. By definition street art (and graffiti as part of that) is supposed to be eroded and changed alongside it's immediate environment/surroundings.

They never did it. If they did, a video would have been posted here. All that for nothing.

dw bro his bases are extruded so they're already ruined

Haha Fair enough. If i had extruded base skis i would just give them to a homeless person and start running so by the time he finds out theyre extruded bases i will be far away.
