Skiing Mt. Hood late April - early May, where to stay?

Yo guys, I'm planning on skiing Hood later this month.

https://www.newschoolers.com/forum/thread/464739/Can-someone-tell-me-about-camping-hood-

Is any of the info in this thread still correct? Did a bit of research and seems Trillium campground isn't open til summer.

Can I just pull my car onto the airstrip campground, and setup there, I'm just gonna sleep in my car. Is that still cool?

Or has anyone got better ideas for me? Never been before so don't know where the fuck I'm going

Also it'd be sick to hookup with anyone here, I'm only an average park skier but planning on really committing to some new shit whilst I'm there!

you can sleep in your car in Oregon.

you could see if any of the government roads are open or a-lot of people sleep right in govy.

Or sneak a couple days in the tline parking lot. They stoped allowing overnight camping/parking but parking lot crew is usually supper cool and gives 0 fuks.

bfish knows what's good. Slept in the parking lot 10+ times last summer and it was chill. Airstrip campground is gonna be snowed in I'd imagine. You can pull off on any of the logging roads on 26 between Welches and Govy, sleep in your car, and you'll be chillin.

Thanks boys.

Going for the spring pass, just $139 for unlimited skiing until end of may, that seems too good to be true!

Can't wait.

I'm here now if anyone wants to hang.

Like mentioned before I'm not any good at park but looking to progress whilst I'm here. Will be dope to hang out with anyone whilst I'm here

Have fun! I would meet you up there and ride with you but I am recovering from knee surgery at the moment. Some good advice in the comments above, camping should be pretty straight forward if you are staying in your car. Govy camp will be a good starting point to familiarize yourself with the lay of the land. If you have time, go check out Portland if you have never been, its about 1 hour west. You may need to buy a sno-park pass to park in some of the lots up there but I dont think they really care this time of year so you may get away without getting one. Let me know if you have any questions, I live somewhat close by.

Hey bro. Sorry to hear about the knee that sucks. Yup I found a half decent camping spot about 10 mins down the road from govy. That'll do the job for the time being.

Thanks for the advice. I spent two nights in portland before coming here, I'm travelling down from BC so I've also stopped in Seattle and heading down to Utah after this for some biking!

Super cool! Enjoy your time while you are here, are you headed to Moab?

That’s the problem with having too much fun, it takes fun tickets(money) to do it. Have fun down there in the red rock, I’ve done some dirtbiking down there a few times.
