Skiing is getting cooler

as i see it the movies this year portrayed a more well rounded group of skiers so far they have all been a lot more like snowboard films yet still individual and i like that
 
I really don't care how cool skiing is. If I was the only straight guy that skied I'd still ski.
 
all i know is that the sport is blowing up. I tried to register for the us open, and i was on 1/2 hr early. Reginstration started 3 min. early and i jumped on it. It closed in like 30 sec. no joke. It sucked.
 
skiing is the shit. skiing just has a million times the style than anything else out there, you can ride deep pow huge jumps and urban rails and it all looks cool i don't know any other sport that has that.
 
yeah, i think most people on a skiing website think skiing is the good shit, but great post to help as all agree on how great we are
 
skiing is definitely gaining popularity, and the segments this year are much more progressive than other years. but i dont really care if pople like skiing or not.
 
haha yea skiing is so cool. whenever i say i went up to the mountain to somebody, they automatically assume (sp?) i snowboard.
 
ya people can't comprehend sombody who acts and dresses the same as everybody else to be a skiier
 
Try living in Michigan and explaining to someone that u ski. Nobody even gets it. Everyone that even does any winter sports here snowboards and there is no such thing as freeskiing according to anyone at my school. I have to explain it so slowly and stupidly, like "I hit jumps and spin in the air, and sometimes i grind rails too. Thats when u jump onto a (ususally) metal rail and turn sideways and try your hardest to slide all the way to the end." And then they just go, "so thats like snowboarding, but on skis right?" "yeah"
 
dont say that skiing is getting cooler, its jsut like it wasnt a coupla years before and now becasue lots of kids wanna do it it has become a cool sport... thats just not true, skiing has always been a great sport, with or without all the media attention that is given to it
 
i love trying to explain skiing to ignorant people. this guy I was talking to the other night was telling me "loads of people tell me that after they try snowboarding they never go back to skiing cause there is just so much more stuff you can do" It was pretty funny. Sometimes i just go along with it and be like "yeah skiings for queersbags!"
