Skiing in Spain

Hey NS,

Long Story short I might be spending a year in Barcelona next June.

Being a skier, one of my first concerns was skiing. Quality and Quantity. I was wondering if anyone on here is from or familiar with skiing in Spain? Like could someone direct me towards the best skiing (parks, off-piste, etc.)?

I would be super stoked on any help or direction, for I am from Alberta. Thanks in advance yall.

Hey! There is great skiing in the pyrenees, mainly Andorra, Val d'Aran and Cerdanya, and those are 1:30-3 hours ride from Barcelona. Ski season goes from late november to April. A season pass at Grandvalira, in Andorra, is around 575€ if you buy it before november-december.

Then, you can also drive to the French Alps. Closest resorts there would be Vars, Les Deux Alpes, La Grave or Alpes d'Huez, all of them at a 6-7 hour drive, but pretty expensive drive if you don't fill a car with 4 people (expensive gas and tolls).

You might want to start checking out AllTheSki.com (spanish equivalent of NS).

Enjoy your trip!

search baquiera, i think, i was gunna apply for a job there, apparently it usually has the best snow

Yes, Baqueira is the best for backcountry skiing (it's in Val d'Aran), and also Andorra is pretty good (both Grandvalira and Vallnord resorts)

It's pretty crappy. Specially given the fact that at the same distance from Barcelona you have Les Deux Alpes glacier in the summer with one of the best parks in the world, on real mountains with real snow
