im heading out to germany next august, and im wondering if they still ski during that time of the year. Im gonna be near Cologne and i have an unlimited week long train pass, so im wondering where the best place to go would be. Im gonna have to rent, cuz there is no way im shipping my skis and boots out there, but i really want to ski in europe. Belgium is a possibility too, cuz im going there for a couple days but im not sure how long ill have there. If you guys could hook me up with a sample itinerary or something, or just tell me what you would do if you know the area, that would be great

i think the only place to ski in germany is garmisch, about an hour south of munich. and i doubt they are open in august.

garmisch is not the only place in germany to ski, but its the most likely to be open in august, since its a glacier. i would suggest you travel a little more, austria is right south of garmisch and has more mountains to choose.
