Skiing in Chile...

I am going to Chile this summer to ski and was wondering if anyone knows how much season passes are for portillo or valle nevado... also if anyone knows of hostels in the area, basically I need some info on it or just where to find the info.

what summer are you talking about, northern hemispheres summer just ended and chile's winter just eneded. They'er skiing is dwindling down and they dont ski in the summer

i wanna go. it looks soo sick. but i dunno if you can ski there during there summer. might need to heli it

well i live in bolivia and thinking about getting to portillo this summer. a week there starts at like 450 for everything. which is really really good. but im sure on any of there web pages they have season pass prices. where do you plan on living for the ski season. portillo can be hard to get to at times. 102 miles from Santiago or approximately a 2 hour drive. but i would say its the best in chile. its really cheap to live in chile but skiing is just as much as it is in the states. lots of good backcountry stuff. lots of giuding outposts and what not. getting here costs a lot. it sucks.

if you have any questions about stuff here. feel free to message me.

las liñas is the best argentin ski resort. thats wehre i would go if i was you. its the easyest to get to and what not. plus argentina is way cooler than chile. the ppl are really nice and the food is better

i went to portillo 2 summers ago and it was hella tight. a small resort, but it was skiing in august so i couldn't bitch. the people there are really nice, and the food that was included was sooooo fucking good. i put them as #1 for resort food. i dont know how much tickets are anymore but im sure u can find it on their website http://www.skiportillo.com/home-eng.html i want to go to las lenas sometime in the future b/c its sooo much bigger than portillo.

yo im here in santiago right now and have been skiing at valle de nevado. you can buy a pass out here fosh. if you buy it by december its around 400 US. and valle is sick, it has the best park around here and theres fun backcountry thats lift accesible and you can just hitch hike easily back to the mountain. yee

I was there for that too, it was because of the hurricane that hit the coast, sooooooooo much snow, we were jumping off the 2nd and 3rd storey balconies into the drifts. I jumped off the triple, and the condor 20 feet into like powder over my head, fucking epic.
