Skiing figurehead from an outside perspective

Kinda curious what you guys think. From a more removed perspective who do you think the public perceives as the figurehead of skiing. When everyone thinks swimming they think Michael Phelps what do you think this would equate to in a skiing world. I feel like so many names and faces are only recognized by such a select group of people and even some of the most famous ones like Candide are illusive. Henrik seems to be the obvious choice for most or Tanner Hall but remember FIS glorifies racing. Do people even think of anyone at all? that being said the best doesn't seem to always mean most notable.
 
This is probably the best answer.

Absolutely no one knows Tanner or Henrik outside of freeskiing.

Def gotta add Jonny Moseley, he’s known across the spectrum from olympians, to freeriders, by 10 year olds and by 70 year olds, his Warren Miller narration, he’s def a face of skiing to the common skier not following events and edits on a daily basis.

The ankle exploding video got seen by alot of people outside of skiing but those people only know the video and not the skier behind it.

Also Gus Kenworthy might be an honorable mention.

Think he gets that much crossover notification? My wife knows him from AHS, had no clue he’s a pro skier.

I mean I said, "might be an honorable mention" so I think he's a long way from Lindsey Vonn status but he does get alot of exposure to people outside the skiing scene.

The Who day was at glen plake, I knew who he was but have forgotten.

agree on gus but it seems like he’s moving away from the ski industry, but I don’t follow him so idk

Candide Thovex, at least in the past 5 years

His POV edits went crazy viral. He's the only name non-skiers remember when they go skiing and see someone get air.
