Skiing Deaths

It seems like recently I've been hearing about a lot of deaths skiing. The thread about the missing skier in Steamboat brought this to my attention, but just today i read about a 5th grade boy who collapsed and died on a mountain near me and about another who died at pats peak on a jump.

I guess it made me think about the risk we all take by skiing every weekend. And It makes me a lot more thankful for the times i was just injured when the worst could've happened.

RIP all the skiers who recently passed away.

we recently had a avalanch killing one person some hours from my home, I also heard on the news, a big avalanch in Italy killed severail people, skiers i think

a guy had a heart attack last year and died at my mountain

last year some snowboarder cut off a 10 year old girl learning to ski and she hit the lodge breaking her neck

Yesterday I hit my head ducking under a parking bay and I've got a big bleeding wound on my forehead and a splitting headache.
Being alive is dangerous.

2 guys died like 3 days ago. One at Killington and one at Snow. Damn.

Its part of what we do, at some point you just have to embrace that. Especially the backcountry folks.
