Skiing+college app...

Going to apply to college next year and I was just wondering if you guys had put skiing on your resume, common app, etc...if so how?

Doesn't belong on the Common App. Work it into your essay.

if your an instructor is there anyway to use that in your common app or just essay?

Obviously that would fit. There is a place to put Work and other experience, essentially a resume builder. But just skiing recreationally--even competing individually--doesn't really fit unless you were on a team.

Everyone's different, of course. But I prefer to put things like skiing in my essay. Your Common App essay is supposed to reveal your passions. Skiing fits perfectly there. Obviously you don't want to be cliché, so there's some pressure to work it in nonchalantly. But I'm of the opinion that that is where it belongs.

you can put a hobbies and interests section on your resumes for college.

essay is a good place too

depending on how "seriously" you ski, or how important you feel it is to understanding you as a person, and if you don't want to do your essay on it you could write an additional information document about it so you wouldn't be so limited in terms of words... thats what I did

I put it in the common app as an activity and personal essay.

I wrote about skiing in my essay. It asked about the place I felt most peaceful at, so I wrote about my home hill. Quoted CRJ. Everyone I read it to loved it. Pretty killer
