Skiing at Penn State

Does anyone on this site go to Penn State? I plan to go there for a golf program, but I also want to try to ski some weekends and not completely leave the skiing world in the dust after High School. Anyone with experience with skiing while being a student at Penn State/ if there are any freeride/ freestyle clubs?

I'm going to psu next year and I am going to big boulder every weekend. I am a senior in State College rn lol

Tussey is the local hill. BOASTING 500ft of vert and THREE trails AND a TERRAIN PARK. They also have some deals sometimes. Like Tuesdays used to be $5 lift tickets.

If you only have 1 class on a certain day, you can literally spend half the day skiing, and still make it downtown in time for class. Which is really the story with every outdoor sport near State College, the areas and features are small, but they're only 20 minutes from downtown.

Also, there are ski and snowboard clubs. PSSC used to party waaaayyyy harder. I have no idea what it's like these days

No way it has both 3 trails AND a park. No mountain is good enough to have both.

FOr real though, sounds like s small little place run by college kids

Tussy sucks but not the worst in PA, your problebly going to ski there most of time and occasionally drive 2 hours to big boulder, not many people rip out of Penn State, hence why I decided on U of Utah

Yeah I’m sure it’s not a huge skiing school. But it’s bar none the best school for the program I’m looking for so beggars can’t be choosers (all the other schools with the program are in the Carolinas)

I mean technically no but you can walk straight to the tow from the parking lot and they don’t check at the tow.

I'll have to bring it up to v10. I live in state college even when I'm not on campus so it's a little of a treck lol but I also go to springs so it'd be ight

This is why I love this place. Too bad it’s the same distance as springs and I already pay for a pass there. Park ain’t bad either it’s a good change-up from springs.
