Guess I can’t argue that, it doesn’t apply to me and some of those that I network with but yah in a great deal of cases that’s what it takes, especially if your talking filthy rich, still better not to pre judge tho, I guess it’s easier to have my attitude when your doing well, but I had this attitude my whole life, I always, from a young age, wanted a job that let me provide for others, a lotta people might start like that and loose it on the way, and it takes a lot of choices to run a business, some I’m not willing to make, take care of the employee and they will take care of the customer, I’d do anything for my guys but I hear your point, lotta greedy people

Guess you even got me on the environment , I try, I try hard, and I’m learning more ways, I’m a property manager ( glorified landscaper ) I pickup trash at least at a lot of commercial sites ?, we have some electric saws etc, pull weeds instead of chemicals, but we got trucks, we got mowers, gas and oils get spilled, we clean them up, follow all rules and regulations , try to be preventative, but ultimately what I do is probably bad, but if I’m not, someone else is gonna, and they’ll leave their diesel idle with the ac on all day with their rebel flag, probably polluting more than I, f that shit, I at least try y kno? And I care, I buy sustainable , recycle what I can , but their are things that I can’t change, however I don’t cut corners with humans or the environment to save $1, or a lot of dollars

Snowboarders in general seem more happy go lucky, friendly types. On several occasions I've had snowboarders welcome me into their crew (as a skier!). Skier guys on they other hand, if you aren't already in their group, they act like everyone else is beneath their notice. This is just anecdotal though and there are always exceptions.

The criteria you describe 100% depends on the person, and the location. Every individual is different and there certainly are diamonds in the rough. They're just few and far between.
But location is key. For example, it is much more likely to find white entitled kids in small mountain towns near big resorts because their parents are heavily subsidizing their "dream" of living out west. In the midwest or southern east coat it's more likely to find people who are dedicated to the sport and more wholesome.
That said, park rats can definitely be toxic. There is a sort of a competitive spirit among all park rats, even if they swear they hate comp skiing. The level of hesh attitude, VHS footy, and trendy fashion is just as much a competition as organized dub 12 mutes.
End of the day, ya might find some quality dudes in the ski community, but you may have to sift through a lot. Sifting plus assessing what your standards are for a partner.

When south park came on the scene tho, for me it was like being a teenager in the 60s and the beatles coming to town. Everything before southpark just got demolished by trey and matt. Not that pre-2000 simpsons werent great episodes, because there were many great episodes. The monorail episode apparently was completely written by conan obrien, and it was hilarious. Also the episode where bart calls australia and asks which way the water turns in their toilet episode was classic.
But southpark is literally one of the few things from our era that ppl are still going to be watching 1000 years from now.
1000 yrs from now they probably wont even teach kids in school who obama was. And the only movie ppl 1000 yrs from now might still watch is the shawshank redemption. But i guarantee you south park will be on peoples ubervisions in 1000 yrs. Thats how critical mass trey and matts sense of humor is.

before wakeboarding came around in 1990 or so, kneeboarding was all the rage. Pro kneeboarders were doing flips and 360s and all sorts of shit. But when wakeboarding came around it quickly blew kneeboarding out of the water.
Just like before twin tip skis came around, the whole trickery/progression aspect of snowsports was in snowboardings court. They were all about rebelling and smoking weed and doing cool tricks. Skiing obviously had some based as fuck ppl who had good style going way back and were under the radar during the pozzed as fuck hotdogging/ski ballet area, which was a complete fucking embarrassment to skiing. So when snowboarding came around, skiing was really lame and out of fashion. I remember as a young kid, the snowboarders were all these rebel kids who thought snowboarding was infinitely cooler and that they were infinitely cooler for ditching their skis and buying a snowboard.
But snowboarding overplayed its hand and became complacent about its throne of coolness, so when skiers started truly wrecking shit style wise it was clear that skiing had way more aesthetic and progression potential than snowboarding could ever dream of. It wasnt that 2002-2005 was the most insane time ever for skiing; the actual excitement was that you could sense where skiing was going. You knew the potential for insane new tricks and ignorance beyond all recognition was in the mail. Thats why it was so exciting to see the progression in the early days.
i think the point where skiing actually took the throne from snowboarding was when the ignorance came out. Like young superunknown kids who simply laid down shit that was beyond all of snowboarding while looking like they didnt even know what the fuck they were doing. Like the natural born killers element. At that point newschool went from being a thing where older skiers were pointing their finger at snowboarders and saying, “haha! Look whos cooler now!”, to the point where skiing was simply and utterly cooler than snowboarding at its core.
and now its not even a competition. Snowboarders today trying to match skiing by doing trip 16s just looks completely forced and overly hucked. Its not graceful at all. A snowboarder trying to do a 16 or 18 just looks completely not in control or fun or stylish or anything. it looks like snowboarders spent years trying shit into foampits and then carefully built jumps to mimic the foampit so that they would have the hope of landing a trick they were barely in control of. Its just stupid. Its like, ”give up, snowboarding, the wave of your fad crashed a while ago now, and compared to skiing you are like kneeboarding compared to wakeboarding”
If you look at the style and ignorance from shit like kurra koivisto’s 2160, its so far beyond anything in snowboarding its hilarious.
And before you compare snowboarding to skateboarding; skateboarding is based as fuck but snowboarding never has been nor ever will be skateboarding.

Also, southpark has been going for literally a quarter of a century and id argue that it has been good for at least most of that time if not great. I dont even know if many shows have run for that long period, let alone having been very good for the whole stretch.

like heres this south park show that parents think is just some harmless kids cartoon their kids are watching, and in the episode the kids go on a school archaeology field trip to see what its like to be an archaeologist, and cartman, a 3rd grader, is singing slave songs while he is chipping away with his pick axe. The idea of a third grader having such an ignorantly and innocently dark sense of humor was always really funny to me.

When south parks tone changed from the first seasons to the more animated seasons it fell a little for me, all it took was sitting on a couch with a friend and watching it and my love for it came back, I agree with Dolan it will be around for a very long time and I’m glad bc it makes me laugh, I got 256 episodes on eve rn, I pick thru the ones I haven’t seen it’s a nice little comical relax for me everyday after work, sometimes I’ll chill in the hot tub and watch, it’s just relaxing, sometimes the issues south park raises make me think about my own outlook on life and while I don’t find it a teaching platform the writers make a lot of good points and I hope America never becomes so sensored and sensitive that we lose a great show, honestly, cartman is probably the only celeb safe from being “cancelled”.
