Ski width Japan

Going to Japan in January for two weeks, I only own a pair of Kartel 98s. Should I buy a wider pair for that Japow or will the 98s be enough? I live in NZ so if I buy some wider skis I probably won't use them often due to our bad snow

If your just going for a visit just rent when the is super deep.

Doing the same thing, coming from Canada for a month, I'm probably picking up Mordecais or Kartel 116

I spend a few weeks every month in japan and found that a wider ski is preferable. Due to the light snow, mellow angles, you can get away with a fattie as an everyday ski. Use to rock the surface lab 001 everyday one year. But this kinda depends on how many skis you wanna travel with, and what ur willing to sacrifice to have the right ski for the pow. Plus depends on the resort ur gonna be riding.
