Don't use wax just throw some down dish soap and water on the turf and you'll be fine.

I do use soap and water on the turf, but should I wax my ski bases?

They're white because they're so dry

I always just rub some soap and water to my skis. I used candle wax for summer/spring skiing, idk how it would work on turf though.

I just used spray wax, as it was the only one I had at my house, and it fucking sucked. It slowed me down so much that I didn't even have enough speed to get onto the rail.

I just found some hot wax, will that work?

I do wax my skis every like month after on a summer setup because it is very bad for your ski bases to dry up, if it continues to become dry the bases will no longer hold wax and that is not good.

^look at my most recent picture... left side bases were very dry... hot waxed them and they are as good as new.

I've heard that hox waxing isn't optimal for summer setups, and that a cold wax should be used. That true?

When I say "Hot waxing" I mean applying the wax to the ski and scraping it off while the wax is still hot; instead of waiting an hour to scrape it off. I used the wrong term; I should have said "hot scrape". I have no idea whether or not to use hot or cold temp wax, but I just use SWIX CH8 wax because that's all I have.

Hot scraping helps with base burn; when skis turn white on bottom and can not hold wax. That is why I do it.

Yeah I got base burn. Guess I'll just hot scrape soon.

Yea, I am not an expert, but I am telling you based off experience from this summer and I have done a ton of reading.

Sweet, do you notice that the hot scrape gives you extra speed on your summer setup?

I hot scraped my friends skis one time and he said that he was going a lot faster than normal... I hot scraped my skis a couple of days ago and I felt like I was going faster too. So I'd say yea, but that could be like me just thinking it so idk.

Don't forget that soap on the rail will make you slide smoother and faster. Soap and water on the turf will make you faster too.

I put a lot of soap and water, but I still feel like I'm going super slow. My bases are burnt, so that could be why.

One last thing, how often should I hot wax/ hot scrape?

Your still going slow? Post a pic of your drop in... I ski basically every day on my setup and I hot scrape every like month just because I don't have a lot of wax. I'd say every seven days you ski, or until you notice the bases of your skis turning white...

I'm gonna get some lattice and hot scrape tomorrow, and if I'm still going slow, I'll let you know. Thanks for the tips

Btw, I'm just gonna use a clothes iron and DS 7020 Orange wax by Demon. Hopefully that'll be good.

Alright cool, I'm curious on y you are going slow so do let me know, and yea that should work fine.

With fresh wax on my skis and lattice on my drop in, I'm getting so much more speed than I was before.

how does m-wax work on regular turf? I will have some soon but I don't have any m-snow.

I've never heard of using mwax on turf... I'd say just use soap and water, but try the mwax I guess...?

I meant hear not here^

When you guys say mWax are you talking about the product for massage that is made from bees wax and canola oil ?

Okay I need do do more research.

I still say the Teflon stuff from Zardoz should kill it.
