Ski Ward dry slope

Hey Newschoolers, if you guys have ever been to ski ward in shrewsbury, MA, then you have gotta check out their dry slope. they have it set up during the summer with like 6 or 7 features. its like this plastic stuff, rides just like snow. just thought i should inform the skiing community.
 
I was going to make a ski ward dry slope thread but you beat me to it haha... anyways I'll be going to it a couple of times this summer, should be fun
 
i mean it didn't ski exactly like snow, but it was pretty damn close. and they did have a few snowboard oriented features but also had two nice boxes

its really fun though i hope they switch up the features this year the only good one was the long box and that got a little boring. ill be there a ton this summer cause i have like a billion kajillion dollhairs in gift cards there
 
I went last year and it sucked. I might go again this summer but I have to drive 45 min. BTW anyone know the dates this summer for Whalback Railjams and stuff because those are better than Ski Ward.
 
not trying to thread jack but whaleback jams are usually around the first saturday or every month, we are working on a new setup so we have not decided on the dates for the jams yet
 
post pics or list of new features i have to get someone to drive me 2 1/2 hrs to get there so i want to know what is up. :)
 
all day but if its not busy you can just buy a one hour ticket and go for as long as you want theyre pretty chill about it or at least last year they were.

and they need to build a different setup this year because the long flat box was the only good feature last summer. the up down rail could be good but they need to dig a hole for it cause its a good 4 or 5 feet tall and the "jump" they had was stupid and the flat box and rail were too short. definetly has potential to be a awesome setup and im sure since last summer was the first year they were just testing it out so this year should be better. i have so many gift cards for there so ill be there a bunch
 
the actual surface is fine for your skis but unless they built something new around the slope there is tons of mud so your boots/ skis/ everything gets dirty from walking up and hiking the rails
 
God I hope so! The set up sucked last year. But i still went a bunch because it is better than nothing and i don't have a summer set up.
 
haha i cant make it that day and i bet it would be packed on the day it opens and if there are more than like 10 kids seshing it gets crowded. how bout a weekday during vacation where it would be less busy?
 
went on facebook to see if they have posted pictures of the setup... looks like they have a short box (the short one from last year) a new rail (looks kinda short and low off the ground) the pvc pipe from last year, and the picnic table thing from last year... apparently it is lift serviced
 
lift sounds cool. The only good features are the rail and the picnic table, MAYBE the box. That PVC needs a jump, otherwise it just sucks.
 
i heard that the box is wiked short so im not so sure how its gonna be... the rail looks pretty sick though
 
the box kinda sucked last year its only like 8 feet long. picnic table blowz, rail was pretty fun last year and the pvc pipe needs a jump. they should put in the long flat box instead of the picnic table. lift access seems cool though
 
I went on Saturday it was actually better than i thought ( i hadn't gone before ). The guy in charge of it said that they were going to put in the long box sometime this week and should be ready by the weekend. Also the set up is 2 squares wide not three apparently like last year so you get quite a bit of speed going down, and it's nice that there is a magic carpet to bring you back up. The guy in charge said that he really wanted to change that green pipe out with something else so idk if he will do that soon. It was fun though.
 
Mr. Baird there wasn't, but there were a few riders and skiers there that's why they made a video on Facebook. Sadly it was before I got there
 
they put in the long box and took out the short box

ill be there next week not sure which day though. probably not wednesday
 
"probably not wednesday" LOL. Also stoked on the new box. I'll go up a bunch this summer.
