I know this has been said before but can someone please make a fucking dope ass ski video game. I'm so sick of the 100 snowboarding ones. Fuck snowboarding games son. All a video game designer has to do is look at every member on this site and know that this game will get bought. Aslong as its with real pros and create a skier i'll be happy. CAn someone please make a freeskiing game!!!!

RANT OVER!

there would be under 200 people on this site who would buy the game.dont get me wrong, i would definatly buy it. but its not vey economical to make. i would say that under 5 percent of America knows who Tanner Hall is and he is the most recogniseable figure in our sport.maybe i could see an xgames game that includes skiing but I GAURENTEE THERE WILL NEVER BE A SKIING VIDEO GAME.

i bet not, make a thread once and see how many people would actualy buy it. like a petition. i would bet under 200 people on NS have xbox360 or PS3.

Fail. Look at how many threads are made on this exact topic. One comes up every week and it makes me sick, and Im guessing the hundreds of people on here with an xbox or ps3. This is America.

Its what we stereotypically are. A bunch of fat kids that do nothing with they're lives but sit at home and play video games, and then when they fail at life, blame it on society. Atleast everyone on here is somewhat active.

yea active on a fucking blog site...

although if you are talking about the fact that we do a sport than yes i agree with you

Word. There definately needs to be a freeskiing game. Simon Dumont's or Tanner Halls Freeskiing or something. It would be a pretty good seller.

I think it's unrealistic for anyone to expect a high production for developers to make a strictly skiing videogame. I mean they have made games to cater to other less popular extreme sports like wakeboarding and BMX. But one I don't think these games did very well I either considering there were no sequels.

Also Snowboarding is just way more popular to ignore, I mean why would a developer basically make a skiing game that would be remarkably similar to a snowboarding game yet have a fraction of the audience. The best we can hope for is a good snowboarding game with a somewhat good playable skier character. Like SSX tricky minus the seizures and takeing off skis and whatnot.

how can you even say that only 200 people here have a xbox 360 or ps3 are you retarded. i bet 75% of the memember maybe even more have either one

Dave Mirra had like 5 BMX games and ive seen at least 3 different wakeboarding games come out in the past, lets admit it, freeskiing is the only extreme sport to not have their own video game.

agreed. And if snowboarding is sooooo popular make it an option in the game along with skiing. I just really dont understand why this hasnt been done yet. I know pros are busy but one of them during their "off season"( i know they really don't have one) they have consider making one.

the only reason it was somewhat sick was because it was the first true progression of skiing game. The only problem was the realistic factor for me. I like the real skis and everything but i want comps. with real runs not runs down the entire mountain. Just what i'm thinking of

goddammit these threads are so stupid, but i am suprised that this one comes in the heart of ski season. usually this is a summer ns topic for people who are still too functionally retarted to have discovered the searchbar function.

the general public has a perception of skiing that is much different than their perception of "action sports." almost everybody living near mountains or hills (or even north of the mason dixon line) has had some experience with skiing, be it renting gear on a school trip or recreationally skiing groomed runs with the family and the such. think of your home mountain, especially the midwest hills. how many of those people do you think see skiing in the same light that we do? 5% maybe? if that even?

for a media company to even consider there is another, more extreme side to the sport is one thing. for them to put the marketing and development behind a game, to convince the general public that a ski video game is more entertaining than their real-life experiences of someone snowplowing down the bunny hill then waiting in the lift line would be too costly. the return on their development and marketing investment is too small for them to consider it even feasable to do more than an exploratory investigation into the target demographic.

sports like wakeboarding, snowboarding, surfing, etc... are not things that the general public tries, or if they have, they still see them as extreme. by playing games of those sports, they have a chance to feel extreme by proxy, to validate not trying such dangerous, radical activities in person. no one sees skiing like that outside of people involved in the sport on our general level or those close to the small percentage of us that make up the ski industry.

while a site like ns.com is a big deal in the freeskiing world, it isn't even on the radar of the vast majority of recreational skiiers, let alone non-skiers. to think that a petition or list of how many members have xboxes or nintendos or whatever would even make a video game executive bat their eye is foolish and it shows a lack of perception of the size of the market for home lesiure products. there are websites about those stupid fucking cats with silly faces and terrible spelling that have more members than us. maybe they should make a game out of that.

you should all be happy with the bitching game quazbotch made, enjoy the updates he puts in, and thank him for caring enough about an industry he loves to put the effort into progressing the tracks game to the level he has.

goshhhh.there are at least 2 milion snowboarders in the world(minimal) and lets say 150 000 skiers that ride twintips.half of america knows who shaun white is. and as said before 5 % of america knows about thall.there was a thread before about sales statics in winter sports.like 35 000 twintips were sold past year adn 300 000 snowboards. so theres a pretty decent reson why skiing doesnt have its video game and snowboarding does
