Ski trip 10+people - - - Where's to?!?

So I go to school at Miami University (Cincinnati OH area). Me and a group of people are thinking about making a small trip to a decent resort. We would rent a cabin, ski, party etc for a couple days.

My question is: Where would be the best place to go to? Snowshoe WV is about 6.5 hours away, 7 springs is about 7 hours away. That's about the longest we would wanna drive. Where else would be worth the drive? Up north to Michigan?

++k for suggestions

Snowshoe has a terrible lift system.. very slow and super long lines. The nightlife is what you make of it but typically is slow unless you bring the party. Springs is a sick little resort, great park, but you may get bored with the rest of the hill and once again no night life.

I went to OU and every winter we would run a weekend ski trip. This past year we went to Holiday Valley. It was sick. Really fun hill, and great lift service. We stayed at Snowpine Village (condos on The Wall) which I would also recommend. We brought around 50 people so the party scene was great. Even with 10 people the night time festivities should still be good. You can take a shuttle into Ellicottville and they have a few bars that tend to have a good turn out on the weekends. If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

Look into northern lower peninsula michigan, lots of good resorts with good parks, i would say nubs nob in harbor springs is probably the best all around hill, fun skiing with just under 200 inches annually, last time i went there was around 18 fresh on the ground.

They also really stepped up their park this last season with a good rail yard and jump line. It a fun little place with alot of lodging options close by.

boyne highlands and boyne mountain, nubs nob in northern lower mi. They have access to close cheap lodging or you can rent condos on the hill or hotel rooms. solid venues. good parks lots of terrain. boyne is the biggest resort in mi. i ride there every weekend all winter unless im somewhere else (UP or out west)

This sums in up, but boynes park is nothing to ride, hasnt been any good in a few years. Highlands is much better, i have a mt cabin on boyne and i drive 45 mins to highlands every time. So much better

if you're looking for park, see if you can catch a public day at otsego club in gaylord...the park will blow your mind.

been up to boyne for the last 3 years as well... its fun but I would still choose Holiday Valley over it. The drive is AWFUL and once again HV will be a better all around time (both skiing & nightlife)

Im about 90% sure they closed down, best park in michigan is now probably at cannonsburg or marquette just based off reviews, best park in michigan i have ridden is either Nubs Nob or Alpine Valley.

Nope. They are open for the 2012/2013 season. Park will be better then ever since some changes have been taking place...

Your jumps are flat, Alpines setup>pk>holly>brighton. My only complaint with them is that they take forever to put their shit up. Last year we didn't have a real jump until mid january. I'm on the park crew this year, so i can say for a fact that it will be maintained.

Im sorry, but theres no way AV is better than Knob. I saw multiple edits from last year and the park looked pretty weak. The jumps are a little flat at pk, but you can hit 5-6 in one run at snowbird. Timberline had something like 20 jibs, and pinery always has 3-6. Pk defiantly is ontop in SE michigan. Cannonsburg takes the cake in all of michigan though

last year was the worst setup in as long as i can remember, itll be good this year. The owner of alpine doesn't want the liability of having large jumps so they will likely max out at around 30 feet this year. I have alot of ideas to send to management, hopefully they will use a couple of them, if the park comes along like i hope, it will be the best in the area.

Predictions on who is gonna open first in the lower peninsula?

Looks like nubs, crystal, boyne, etc will be able to make snow starting friday. Lows of 27-28. Still looking shitty for us SE michiganders.

im sayin boyne highlands, im thinking theyll open next friday, just waitn on my gold card to come in

Nubs Nob.

Don't go to Boyne. Nubs is about 10 million times better for everything.

I'd rather pay for Nubs than ski free at Boyne

Bro just stick to the good ol' Perfect North in cincy. haha its small as hell but the place straight bumps
