Ski Transport help.

My situation.

Parents are allowing me to use my brothers car for transport to and from the local hill.... My problem is that i can fit my skis barely length wise in the cab of the car. Is a roof rack worth the 200-300$... or should i scrape up the inner whole inbetween the 2 front and 2 back seats that goes from the boot of the car?

Did you ask your parents if they'd be willing to pay for a rack for the top of the car so you don't scratch them up?

I used to throw skis in my car (still do sometimes when I'm lazy) and it's unreal how much they can really scratch up the inside of your car.

I would 100% recommend trying to be preventative if this is a car your brother cares about. Maybe you can find some old ones on craigslist?

Could also try wrapping something around the skis so they don't scratch if buying racks is too much. New invention that will make you millions and soon you'll have your own car?

I got a Thule rack that clamps down on my skis for $50 at a ski swap and has a key so I can leave my skis there. Keep looking and you'll find one.

you serious dude? Grab an old blanket and use that to protect your center console.

Spend that $300 on gas money or lift tix to a different mountain.

My dad made some cool tubes using PVC pipes and Plumbing test plugs, they create airtight seal when you crank down the dial on them making a secure cap. It should cost you less than $20 you would just need to make a seat for the skis or just line it with putting green turf or something soft to keep them from rocking around.
