Ski Tip Damage

what causes damage on the tips of skis if they are not used on rails? My friend is having some issues with his tips and he can't figure out what is happening. +k for help

Tips are usually the first to come apart b/c that is the part of the ski that gets slapped around the most on landings and impacts with rails/rocks or whatever. Some skis delam quicker/easier than other skis. I would fix it with some JB weld or epoxy. (JB weld is better.) Don't ski them if the delam is pretty bad until you get them fixed, otherwise water could get in the core and wreck the ski.
