Im following a course to become a ski-instructor but n ow ihave a problem, i own two pairs o skis, a pair of scott p4s ( fat twintip with reasonable sidecut that skis rather short because it has big tip n tail, and i own a pair of fischer worldcup series, offcourse, pure for the teaching the fischer would be best, but i just love fooling around on my twins and i dont want to risk missing any pow...

So heres my question, do any of you guys teach on (fat) twintips, and is it possible at all?

(I willl be judged on my skiing and teaching so i really need to know wether it wont affect my style too much)

PS, the p4 is rather noodly, especially in the tail...

Firstly it depends on where you are teaching and at what level. But generally ski schools and especially the courses, are a bit closed minded about twins in general, but especially fat or symmetrical twins. That said, one of my friends teaches on Solly Guns. Maybe you should just ask them? Where are you teaching?

Italy, kauner ahrntal, but i think theyll act chillax over the skis i wear, theyll rather judge me for my skiing, which, i think is rather different on twins, and i dont mean riding switch ;)

Im a ski instructor....I have some shitty ass twins with no edges. For what you need to do, you don't need to change your setup.....unless you are coaching racing or something. The test is more focused form

my teaching ski is the old line chronic blend, I have taught on Scratch BCs and Madens without too much problems. It's harder to demonstrate on huge skis since your class will definately be on shorter narrower skis.

i know guys that teach kids while skiing on k2 madens. Any ski school exams or teaching evaluations or skiing with the boss, use the world cups. If theres freshies or its not boilerplate, use the p4. Easy...

It definitely depends on where you work.

But where I used to teach, half the instructors were on twins and nobody cared. It probably shouldn't make any difference, they're still skis, right?

Unless your boss is a total dick or it's specifically a rule that you can't, you should be fine.

I kinda agree. Generally the Ski Pro governing body want u to teach that country's technique and image of skiing. So when u have to demonstrate the technique & image of a Ski Pro- your skis, appearance etc have to be able to do it well. Check with your SKi pro organization so u don't get screwed. I know that during some exams/testing they did not allow twins. They didn't want SL skis either.

if your teaching fundementals go for the fat twins, if your doing high speed carving and what have you, go for the not fat twins
