spft is good if your a park rat, but its harder to get a god turn and to do a powder run, a midstiff is good for both, stiff is good for all mountain and more stable
and soft skis are good for the bumps. and the flex partially depends on how hulkish you are. if u're small u want a ski that'll flex more easily so you can turn and if u're huge u want a ski that's stiff enough to support u and allow you to turn
you want a stiff ski for carving and reducing the shake, you want a soft ski if your skiing bumps or glades and want maneuvarability. most skis stiffness is determined on the length of the ski and the purpose of the ski, so like a pair of racing skis is gonna be stiffer then a pair of teneighty moguls.
