Ski sizing...yes i used the searchbar

yo newschoolers, im around 5'8'' and im getting new skis this year ive been ridding 166s so short i know, so im looking into amplid antidogma or syntaxs but im lost on sizing i was going to go for the 172s cause it seems like the right fit but im second guessing myself after reading a little more on gear talk hearing that people seem to ride massive skis like 178s who are my height.....what do you suggest? 172s or 178s im around 165 pounds.

Personally you should ride on whatever feels comfortable for you, with that said someone your size should be on something longer than 172
 
Its whatever you feel comfortable with...... and really the difference between the 172 and 178 is 6 cm.... not that big of a difference at all. a 178 will only be about two inches taller than you are which is where i would want my skis to be imo
