ski size jumping

so i need new skis and im im thinking of getting 179 pe's ive been riding 171 lines for a while and i was wondering if anyone had any experinces with jumping to bigger skis. also i cant get any smaller size ski so ya, and im 5'5 135

 
do it. im on 179 pes and i went from 173 to 179. there so sick. do it up fishoE

i went from 146 elans to 180 dynastar concepts and after a run or so i was fine, that was last year, and now i am hitting 50 foot kickers switch and pulling cab 7's so all u have to do is ski a run or 2 and see how the skis feels, and then ur fine, i think u should do it the pe is a really good ski

thats too much ski for you. it should be MAX at your forhead. you're too light and short for 179's. You'll need to always always always be skiing at GS speeds for a 179 to perform properly for you.

demo both sizes. lots of mountains have demo shops where you can trade in skis and try a new pair in the same day. go do that, try the 169s for half a day then the 179s and see how you like each length.

Max at your forhead? No way. I ride a ski that's quite a bit higher than my head and I wouldn't want something shorter. It's really really stable.

Yeah, I used to always ride skis that were a lot taller than me. As long as you are a good enough skiier you should be able to perform well on any ski you ride.

 
i switched from riding 150 dynastars last year to 181 madtrix this year. I can't tell the difference between the skis

yeah forehead at the max. cuase this dudes not that big. skies are designed for more weight or agressiveness. if he's 5'5' those skis are already 3 inches over his head and he has no weight to back them up.

I have a friend who is 5'5', and he rides 188 scratch BCs. He can throw those things around like they are snowlerblades. Its not hard, the head max rule is a joke, All mys skis are over my head. Do it

Mine are just over my head - i feel naked if i'm taller than my skis

i'm 5'3 and 115 pouns and i ride 169 1080's and 172 motherships. they're like 3-4 inches above my head and i have no problems. i wouldn't hit the 179 though. 169 10's are perfect and i'd say you should prolly look into the 169 pe's.

my level of radness... it just can't... be quantified.
 
I used to ride 170 and then I switched to 177. I thought it was going to be a big deal, but I haven't noticed a difference either. (I'm 5 11 and 170 pounds though...)
