Ski Season Edit - Jayson Martens "Critique"

Song is a bit played, and didn't really fit the vibe of the video.

Wasn't a fan of the title text box, looked a bit cheesy.

Colours were all over the place too.

Fun little edit though
 
Thanks! And how so are the colors all over the place? I did a good amount of color editing and at first it was really bad (Different days, conditions, white balances, ect) but I thought I did a pretty good job of cleaning it up, How else would you change it? Also, to the user spongebob there is not one shot that I used twice.
 
I liked it. The skiing was really sick. I'm not sure what happened but the song sounded like all the bass was gone. I listened to it up against a version of the song from youtube and it's definitely different. Also, as mentioned above, that song gets used quite a bit. It's always good to try to use songs that you haven't heard in ski edits/movies/trailers before.

Another issue was with the audio from the videos jumping in and out suddenly. One point where this happened was :19. If you can't get that background noise out, I wouldn't use the audio from the video or at least fade it in then out.

The time lapse at :25 was really sick. As far as colors which were mentioned above, I thought it looked good. There's definitely a point when the colors in two videos are so far off that no amount of correction will make them look good together which might be going on a little. Overall, the colors looked pretty solid to me though.

I really liked the edit in general. The biggest problems I had with it were with the audio. Skiing, filming, and editing were are great.
 
Thanks man! I really appreciate a good cretique, going back through after I see what you mean about the audio and I should hav faded it in and out, I'm not sure what you mean by the bass, for me it works fine I bought the song off iTunes for good quality. Thanks for commenting about the time lapse too, it's not as good as I'd like but overall it came out nice. Also to 1337 I can see that more, there were a bunch of knuckle shots but I tried the best I could to mix it up.
 
I don't know what happened to the song when you put it into the edit, but its missing its entire low end. Like, there is NO bass. None. Which in turn caused it to really clash with the rest of the audio in the edit, and made all the audio fairly unpleasant. It sounds like you recorded the song off the radio with your iphone or something.
 
i liked it the song i dont think fit as well as another song would have and also some of the switching shots could have been a bit more fluid but other then that is was sick man!
