Ski Review

I coached the Freestyle DTeam at Afton and I had an 8 year old kid on the team who is developing into a very potential skier. His dad is getting him Volkl Gotomas. 131's.
For an 8 year old... are these skis good for him. He is an average sized kid. Are the skis good basically.

Thanks

I have a pair and I can't wait to get rid of them! I have to wait until the end of the season to get a new pair of skis. They are the lightest ski ever! Pretty decent in powder, but for park they aren't the best. They are pretty flexy, not that durable (delaminated tip and tail, chips as if i could just pull the whole top sheet off, base has the biggest scrapes ever I don't know if it is a week base?) The tips are the worst. There are no tips at all. It looks like a flat peice of wood front and back. My tips and tail catch on stuff often because they do not have enought tip. I am NOW 5.5 100 pounds and am riding 148!!!! For a little guy I would say they would be awesome because they are so light and i don't think he would destroy them, the only thing is, is the tips. Not a true park twin tip. (tips are same and tail)

Other than the tips I would recomend them for him but he could prob find better ski.
