Ski resorts to work at in the East

I'm tryna find a ski mountain to work at this winter that's pretty close to the Boston area so I can make some $$. I haven't worked at any ski mountains before and I'm interested in either working in ski school or on the park crew

If anyone has any suggestions of great places to work or places with sick benefits I'd love to hear it and tips for working at a ski mountain would be super helpful too if you have any

thanks NS

Nashoba is probably the closest but is very small. If you're interested in park crew however they run a decent park for their size.

Are you living in Boston? Do you plan to only work weekends? during the week? part time? full time?

in the suburbs like 30 min outside of Boston. Probably just working weekends as much as I can and also christmas and feb break and such

ya Nashoba valley is like 10 minutes from my house, it's decent but so small. Park is sick though

Unfortunately most resorts within an hour from boston are nashoba sized. You really don't hit bigger mountains until you're willing to commute two hours or more from Boston. After costs to commute, possible housing to stay the weekends, and shitty instructor wages you wont be stacking too much paper (if any at all). If you're only in it for the $ then I would reconsider. If you're just looking for a free ski pass or an easy job that allows you to ski a lot then it might be worth it.

Check out WV or Loon. Both are fairly easy commutes from boston. You can probably land a WV park crew position if you know a thing or two about digging. Don't even bother applying for park crew at Loon, you wont get a position as a skier. Instructor positions are a dime a dozen at both mountains. I swear they will hire anyone to be an instructor nowa days.

Thanks, Loon's actually not that far from me and I hadn't even thought about it. Also was thinking about Wachusett because it's pretty close

wachusetts probabaly an option, idk if the park crew is hiring this year but they always have a shitload of instructors. rentals is also really chill if it isn't during the asian invasion
