Ski Resort Tycoon? Why didn't I know about this!

Did anyone else on here know about ski resort tycoon? Its pretty much changed the downtime that I have from no skiing as I now get to play god over my own ski resort - and I feel this is something that NSers would be into. So Isohunt that shit and download the torrent, its epic and worth it.
 
i got it for my dad one year and just ended up keeping it but this was a good 6 years ago, no idea where that shit is anymore.

and you probably didn't hear about it, because for the most part, it sucked. I owned both of them. Wasn't enormously fun to play like roller coaster tycoon or anything. worth a try, but it wasnt great.
 
I had snowboard park tycoon. It was cool because you could ride the park you created, but it was really hard to do tricks.
 
to call it skiing is a bit of a stretch. you can go down the mountain, which is quite cool, but it's not like a skiing game.

oh, and unless you cheat, enjoy your 1/2 star resort that consists of a rental shack, a burger joint, and a rope pull for the first 20 years.
 
i cant quite decide if i want this...

its a sick idea but looks like a completely shitty game otherwise
 
Played this like 3-4 years ago. Wasn't that great, really hard to actually build a good resort and wasn't realistic at all.
 
It was pretty fun but got a little boring after a while. You could change the terrain and make like 300 foot drop offs and watch people fall off though, that was a highlight.
 
That game was cool and all, but it was way too goddamn easy to just have a resort raking in mad cash... if you built lots of buildings for entertainment, people would hardly even want to ski anyway, and they'd rather be playing videogames or something, and be in some ridiculous long line for that....

So it seemed more like... 'build a massive resort with a thousand things to do besides skiing and jack up the price to make millions!" rather than "build a super sick resort with lots of awesome terrain and a sick park, and watch people flock to your awesome slopes' or something like that...

 
you do have a point. I wish someone would invent a sick version of this game that was focused on the actual skiing and stuff more. I'm pretty sure you couldn't build parks in this game if I remember correctly so it would be pretty cool if they added a feature where you could build parks and test out everything you build
 
you could build a halfpipe, that only snowboarders would go in, and they wouldnt even throw any tricks... and it cost more money than half the buildings to put in...

You could also build a massive big air jump for the same price and people would throw sweet grabs on it...

 
what?!! I don't remember that, thats pretty cool! Maybe because I haven't played this game in like 8 years. I used to play these games all the time. They should make a new/ better version and I would play haha
 
isn't that what skiing is like at most resorts? rich people get too cold so they go into all the shops
 
Also, not enough chairlift options.. that always pissed me off too...

No triple chairs, or fixed grip quads, or anything like that... and there were no like tramways or anything. and it should have been something like, where you have to engineer the lift to go over things correctly and have the right tower placement and such to make it a bit harder. lol.

 
i had it wasnt as great as you think its going to be. but its cool cause you can ski and shit and go off jumps. in one of my ski towns there was a hotdog stand and i would always ski up to it. :)
