^Try this .. best place I have seen demo's is actually at the mountain itself. If those don't float your boat look into Start Haus, 15 minutes from Squaw and it's a real good shop with a big selection.

My GF just told me we are sking north star this time not squaw lol sorry. so same question just north star. sorry

dude bring your boots...finding good skis is easy. Go to a few shops and see the demo selection or high end rentals. I rented these sick full rockered twins at squaw couple years back and made myt rip that much better. Boots are very hard to replace though

Start Haus doesn't really have a rental fleet. They have demos, but it's not as extensive as other places and is mostly specialty stuff for the most part - I mean, perhaps they expanded on it for this season? but I doubt it...

If you want to rent in and around Squaw, the best place to go, hands down, is Tahoe Dave's - they have rental shops all over, and have one right at the entrance to the valley from the highway. If you REALLY can't bring your boots, then they have the best selection of rental boots that might not completely suck, either. Otherwise, Honestly, just bring your boots carry-on... it's worth it.

Edit: just saw you're going to Northstar instead - same thing applies. Go to Tahoe Daves in either Truckee, Kings Beach, or Tahoe City - wherever you're staying at - and rent from there.
