Ski rack fail

this is a bit embarrassing but funny nevertheless So i was leaving my local "mountain" (*hill* i live in the midwest) to go grab some dinner. We put our skis on the roof rack on my truck and decided to smoke a few bowls out of the bong we brought with. There were 2 pairs of armada aplha 1's and one pair of surface one lifes on the roof. After getting blasted, we started the 5 minute drive. Little did i know that i DIDNT CLOSE THE FUCKING RACK. so all of the skis were just resting on top of the truck, not held down by anything. On the road we were going about 50mph when my friend noticed a strange sound. I thought it was nothing because my offroad tires always pick up snow and shit and fling it against the wheel wells, and it sounded just like that. He then asked "did we lock the rack?". thats when it hit me. I rolled down the window and leaned out of the truck to look and sure enough, my surface one lifes were gone!!! i turned around and gunned it, and 500 yards down the road there were 2 skis laying in the middle of the street. A bunch of cars were passing by and idk how no one hit them. I parked on the side of the road and grabbed them, and somehow they only had a few minor scratches on the bindings and the tips and tails were frayed by the pavement. not bad for falling off a moving vehicle going 50 mph! its easy to see why the one lifes fell off... the huge rocker and wide dimensions act as a wind sail. both pairs of alpha 1's were still on the rack thankfully.677687.jpeg677684.jpeg677683.jpeg677685.jpeg

idk if these pics will show up or not...

For trips to Colorado. And I may be going to school in CO next year so im prepared. But I do ride them here too because they're fun even on hardpack.

pro tip: have sex with ops mom then marry her so you can be ops dad and tell him what to do.

he clearly likes being 'that guy' at small mountains, you know, the one with the big fat rockered skis so everyone will comment on them

Pro tip: don't buy nice skis to ride the Midwest. I've been riding around here for a while and it's just not worth it.

But if your spending most of your time skiing park why have powder skis? Either buy some cheap used park skis or powder. Doesn't make sense to fuck those up on rails. Too nice
