Should I get my Afterbang skis edges dulled down by a shop or keep them the same? Will i catch an edge if i dont?

If you are doing strictly rails then yes I would say dull them, however, i do a mostly jumps but a fair amount of rails with sharp edges for groomers and I don't catch on the rails ever.

just dull the edges under your boot, keep the rest pretty sharp - rarely catch an edge on rails but still give reasonable edge hold on groomers

I they are new the edges probably aren't too sharp already. You can also do it by yourself with a gummy stone

not sure if this is serious or not but if it is why would you pay for someone to do that? just do it yourself

Bevel the edges, don't take down the whole thing. Just scrape the edges at the bottom.

And just a heads up, you can't retune the edges. Once you dull them they stay that way.

use a gummy stone to dull the edges underfoot, dont use a file cause that will merely ruin the edges

you can dull them just a tad bit around the boot area where you grind and anyways they will dull by doing rails over and over. you dont need to dull them.

Yea i got afterbangs and i dulled them around the boot area but kept em sharp towards the end of the skis and they work perfect.

i dont understand why everyone dulls down their edges. yes it will help from catching an edge but it is really really to actually catch an edge. i hit a backyard setup on brand new skis last year and caught once because i was trying something stupid.

if you can slide a rail confidently, you wont catch. they dull down themselves the first day out anyway.

no ur fine i got brand new skis and shredded rails all day. they get worn down pretty quickly
