What up,

So I really want t get into skiing photography this upcoming season and was wondering what I should do about protection from the snow/cold when shooting on mountain photos.

Is it necessary to get a waterproof casing? Or would a plastic bag wrapped around the camera be enough?

I would be shooting mostly pow shots, not much park/street.

just take care not to get snow on it and you'll be fine. dont plan on taking it out if its snowing unless you have an umbrella or some type of cover. never heard of anyone rocking waterproof cases for snow.

forsure, i'd probably just wrap up my camera and bring an umbrella or some shit to shoot on snowy days.

know about external flashes as well? i have 4 vivitar 285hv's and tripods... does snow/cold affect them?

shouldn't. again, water will, any snow falling on them would be a bad thing. and super cold weather makes batteries run through power quicker, not much though. so make sure all your bateries are fully charged before your go out.

just dont drop your gear in the snow, use a weather sealed backpack then just put plastic bags on top of the flashes when it is snowing. and when i get home and when i am inside i put the camera gear in a plastic bag for reasons i dont know how to explain in english.
