Tell me how much sense this makes...Ski Mags Top Ten list of best resorts in North America.

There are a few biggies missing in here...lets see what you all think:

1. Vail]

2. Deer Valley

3. Snowmass

4. Beaver

5. Whistler

6. Breck

7. Aspen

8. Park City

9. Mammoth

10. Steamboat

 
not sure how deer valley is above whistler... and too much colorado. then again, thats probably why i never ever read ski magazine

 
Wow... ok, no. Alta before Whistler, I might be able to understand, depending on your preference, but... yeah, no.

No Alta or Jackson? Ya, like the other guy said, too many Colorado resorts. I haven't been to all of those places, but I can't see how Whistler is not in the top 2 (if not number 1 in my opinion) when you look at everything it has to offer - great skiing in every form (park, powder, bc), kickass parties, and an awsome town.

Yea Ive hit alta/snowbird/brighton/parkcity/deer valley/canyons in utah, and steamboat in co, and Whistler a few times (going in feb), Alta should be up top, same with the bird, and whistler. Steamboats got some good cat skiing, but the mountain is rather tame. deer valley sucks in my eyes, way too flat. Havent tried Mammoth yet, thats next.

What about Squaw?

 
the ski magazine subscriber is a big softy that likes to be pampered with sweet groomers and service so that they can have a good time. Considering that, the ratings make sense. We don't need them to vote for a-basin, squaw, alta, alpental, snowbird or any other hardcore mountain. They can go where they get catered to. The real problem is that you were reading ski instead of freeskier, powder or SBC Skier

its top RESORTS theres a big difference between a resort and a mountain..no doubt there a better mountains than deer valley,beaver,vail,aspen etc.

but we are talking mainly about the village and restaraunts and shit like that-not the mountain..so it kind of does make sense when you look at it by how they rated it..it cators more to the family resort not the extreme skier/park rat

 
if what your saying is true, then tremblant should be in there as well.
