Ski Lift Collapses at Timberline, WV

Who knew a brake malfunction constitutes as the entire lift collapsing. You should work for buzzfeed.

The most shocking part to me is that there's snow. I've been walking around campus in Maine in shorts and a T shirt, it's 45º here.

only 2 had minor injuries. The lift was a Borvig which also made the 2 chairs at sugarloaf that failed (one in 2010 and the other last season). Its not really a maintenance issue, just aging lifts that were made pretty cheaply to begin with.

All the news has been lies. I was on the lift and thankfully was passed the section that broke, but a couple of my buddies weren't. The whole top of the 12th pole broke off and all the chairs dropped. Shit was scary, thankfully nobody was too severely injured just a bunch of broken ribs and concussions.

Don't believe the internet bullshit. T-line is the fuckin shit! The best lift skiing in WV. Rad local scene and one of the few true ski areas left. Thank God it hasn't become some fuck-tard luxury resort!

Nah dude I mean I love Timberline, but I think the place does really need a lift upgrade and this proves it. I go every year and although their park leaves something to be desired (their j bar wasn't even operational last weekend) the glades are unreal.

This scares me so much, I was at Park City on Thursday and the lift got shut down while I was halfway up due to wind and power failure, we were stuck on the lift for over an hour and it was swinging like crazy

That's because Thursday was the absolute worst day to go skiing this season. Snowbasin closed down, Solitude shut down due to power outages, etc. You were an idiot to go up skiing that day.

And from that picture posted above, people are claiming that's a lift tower breaking in half... yeah good one. Buzzfeed should really look at the NS threads for their next recruiting session.

In the end it was worth it because they refunded our tickets, gave us free lift tickets for the next day, and I was able to ski in the park for a few hours for free towards the end of the day when they reopened. Besides I was only in Utah for 6 days.

I just want to point out how shitty it must feel to be in the shadow of the Real timberline resort lol. First time I have heard of another "timberline"

Timberline is an awesome resort. Skiing and snow always A1 but they need a major lift upgrade. Also met some meth heads at the bar last year when I stayed for a few days. Interesting place to say the least lol
