Ski Length Question

Ok, I've decided to go back to skiing after 10 years of snowboarding. Now I've been doing some research on skis to get and I think I'm going to get the PEs, but I don't know what size to get. I went to Firehall Sports and they recommended the 159's but said I could probably get away with the 169's. The thing is, I've been thinking the 179's were the right size.

I'm 5'10', 190 lbs and I'm pretty aggressive. I want a twin tip that will be able to handle all conditions (bumps, park, groomers, pow) and be stable at high speed. I will be skiing mostly at blue this season, but I will probably take a trip to whistler where I'll spend the majority of my time hiking for pow.

So my question is, what is the right size? And is the PE a good ski for what I want to do?

I work in a ski shop and run the twintip sales. The 169 is probably technically the proper length for you, however I'm a big fan of going longer, more stable, more speed and better if you go out west. Some people argue that its harder to jib on longer skis but i think thats bull. The 179 is a little tall for you but cuz of your weight you can definitely pull it off, especially if you're agressive as you said. My call: 179

Thanks for the reply. I know in the other forums people are saying to go with the 179's as well, but I was starting to think mabye there was a special rule for Ontario since all the shops were telling me to get 160's. I also posted the question on K2's site and they said the same thing, 179. I'm probably going to go with that.

Now all I need to do is figure out what bindings to get.
