Im switching to skiing after years of riding. I am 5' 11'' and around 170. I will mostly ride everything but park. Can i ride 186cm billy goats? or is that too tall for me? I will mostly ride vail. its a good deal and dont want to pass it up. lemme know if these will work.

They will be 2 inches above your head and if you were pretty good at skiing then it shouldn't be bad. It might be uncomfortable a few times but you should get use to them. Billy Goats are great skis so its kinda hard to pass down a great deal. How is your skiing ability?

I mean ive only had one solid day on sin 7s last season but i did some blacks, so i feel i could progress pretty quickly.

The turning radius on the billy goats are pretty big but the rocker will make it seem shorter as a ski. I mean really its hard to decide because really having a bigger ski will just make like your first 10 times harder compared to a smaller ski. Though when you get the fundamentals down and everything else you will like grow into the ski. How long do you have till you have to decide. Getting more opinions would be smart.

probably like a day or two. I mean they are only 300. which is a great deal. I just dont want a ski too big that i wont have fun on.

Tough call, I mean you just started skiing and you say you're progressing quickly and youre already jumping to powder orientated skis, do you have enough experience, technique to ski powder? Because these skis won't ski the same on groomers and you might find it challenging. If you're really set on these due to their price, go for the 186s, however skis closer to your height might be better but you say you learn fast so a few days/weeks on them and you'll be fine. The 176s will be too small for you.

Look for something else if you won't be skiing powder but piste. The line prophet skis are really easy and fun skis to ride on, they respond so well. I got a pair of 179s and I'm also 5'11" ish , and they shred so hard, and I can ski great with them in powder but you might have to backseat a little in the really deep stuff.

I rally would look for diggernt skis. Try to find something more all mountain. A ski with a mid length turn radius and a mid stiff flex will help you progress much faster. If there are any left you could look at the jmo instead but they are a very jibby ski still so may be a little soft for you to progress quickly on. Size wise if you go on3p don't go above a 181 an a176 in some of the skis would be goo still. But I would maybe broaden your options a little rather then just buyin a ski because it is cheap.
