I am 5'10 and 130 lb but still growing ill probaly be around 6'0 by next ski season. I ride 90% park and 10% groomers and am about half rails half jumps but am more intrested in expanding on raiils next season

i curently have 161 invaders and have realized they are way too short

How long of skis should i get and what miight a good pair for me be?

prob between 170-180
i have the same height and weight as you and i am on 176 chronics and they are great.

Everyone on NS is going to tell you to go longer haha but id say anywhere from 167 to 178 would be good for you.

im about the same size as you, ski about 90% park also and used 176 this season and they were fine, i could go up to 180 when i get a new pair if i have to

Yeah stay in the 175 area, and if you want rails then you probably want a softer ski IMO, such as T-hall, invaders, anthem, maybe afterbang (IDK), So you can get your butter-on locked in.

Like everyone else is suggesting something in that mid 170's would be perfect for you. If you are thinking Anthem or Disorderly then do not be afraid to do the 178cm/179cm. Another great option if you are looking to do a lot of rails would be the new Line Afterbang which is going to be one of the most durable skis for the 2010 season.

personally I would stay away from these two pairs.

These skis have a fairly stiff flex, the flex pattern won't match your liking.

Especially if you weight 130lbs. Your weight is a really important factor when buying new skis.

I'd go with something softer:

- Line invaders: I have these and I'm lightweight and they are perfect for me.

-k2 disordelys: apparently they are similar to the invaders.

-Line afterbangs

-atomic urban punx

-line anthems (if you want a wider ski)

-armada thalls

dude I would not go over 180 for a park ski... I'm same height as you but bulkier and I ride 182 czars centermounted for big mountain

Im going to bump my own thread and add the following info

The hill that i ski at has a 262 foot vertical elevation so im not going to be getting big speed or needing it

The biggest jump last year was supposedly a 30 footer but i think it was more like 25 to the landing.

There is a few smaller jumps usually around 10-15 footers.

there is also alot of rails including a stair set( which includes a box and a down rail), a 40 foot flat hand rail sort thing, a down flat, a rainbow, n a frame, couple of steel boxes, and a few others.

*Also if it matters the park is more orientated toward snowboarders and most rails are setup ride on style*

Im thinking that something around 180 will be too much for me and what i ski,

even though im the right height for that length of ski

Im thinking of something around 170-176. Any suggestions?

***Spark notes of the whole thread ***

5'10 ski mostly park 135 pounds should be around 6'0 150 lb by the middle of the season

Most people recommended something above 180

I feel like it would be to much for where i ski^

Thinking something from 170-176

Post up any suggestions and +k

i would say between the 171 to 178 range of skis is good for you so yeah about what your thinking and your wieght matters if your lighter go with a softer flex it will be better for jumps

i dont know much about the 4frnt stl the size is right you would prob have to ask some one who has skiied on it they would be able to help you alot more and better than would with that

id say go with like 170-180.

im about the same height and weight, and just came from some rossignol scratch's, and i want to get a pair of line skis, i ride %40 powder, %30 groomers, %30 park, im going to try to ride park allot more by next season. any suggestions?

thanks, yeah i guess afterbangs and anthems wouldn't have the greatest flotation, another big part is the flex though.

afterbangs are softer than anthems and more rail orientetated where as anthems are a little bigger more full park and groomers kind of i think correct me if im wrong
