Ski jump question

I've always wondered how ski jumpers get into position on the top of the huge ramp? It's so steep at the top and the cameras only show them chillin on a seat with their skis pointing down, never shows how they got there

That seat is usually just a rail that runs across and into a staging area that's flat. The hop and the rail and slide on over.
