Ski help

I’m 95 pounds 5’3 and I’m looking for a stiff lightweight park ski I ski 60% jumps and 40 rails. Medium sized jumps mostly. Any help would be appreciated, thanks If I posted this on the wrong place sorry I don’t really know what I’m doing

How old are you? Would hate to buy something then grow 6inches over night. Ability level, years skiing, budget etc are also prolly helpful

Check out the grom ski from the Armada ARV line. I think it’s the ARV 84? The 163 is a little taller than you are which means you could grow in to it. That’s a great jump ski for teens definitely

I just checked and those look exactly like what I’m looking for. But do you think the 84 86 or 96 is best for me

Depends on what you want out of the ski. You purely skiing park 100% of the time? You riding some all mountain to the park? 96 will be more versatile outside of the park and will have it's benefits and drawbacks, it's definitely more of the trend you see in skiing now. Personally I would shoot right around the 170cm mark, seeming that you are young and probably will grow a bit more. *armada and many of manufacturers measure 2ish cm shorter than advertised.

Seems like majesty vandal could also fit what you are looking for too.

I just looked at some specs. The Liberty helix 84 is full sidewall with bamboo-poplar core.

The Liberty will be much tougher and stronger than the armada. The armada arv84 is only cap construction.

84. Liberty helix 84 is good one too

I’m just looking for it to excel in the park and I checked and saw that the liberty helix 84 only goes up to a 158 I feel like I’m going to outgrow them very fast. But they have a 88 and Tom wallisch pros look nice too

So my shop restocks on Tuesday and they have the volkl bash 86 it’s light and mid stiff supposedly and Tom wallisch pro a hood stiff jump ski and arv 84 which do u think would be the best for me?

Hey man here’s my opinion:

while the ARV 84 seems like a good option on paper, it is a kids ski. While you are a young 14, they are not meant to handle the abuse of a growing teenager. I would personally recommend the Tom Wallisch Pro in a 171. It’s a very middle of the road ski. It will hold up much better than the 84s because it’s an adult ski, and be way more comfortable to grow into. I held my old 171 chronics up to my friend (she’s 5’4) and they will be perfectly manageable. I skied 171 chronics until I was 5’8 and while they were short they weren’t debilitating. The Tom wallisch pro will get your through a season or two and help you find what direction you want to go with your skiing because they’re kind of a jack of all master of none ski. For bindings, I personally love look pivots, however as wonderful as they are they are expensive. Marker griffons or Tyrolia Attacks would be great options

First off thank you so much i kinda get the drift now, but what did you mean by a middle of the road ski? Were you meaning that i can get into stiffer comp skis or softer fatter skis, or did you mean for skill level. And last thing is does weight matter in skis, cause thats why i liked the sound of the bash.

I second the TW pro or chronic. The bash has a long radius so it might not be as versatile out of the park as you might like. There’s a reason you don’t see many people raving over the bash. It’s a fine ski but it’s nothing particularly special.

By middle of the road I mean it’s flexible but supportive, it’s wide enough to be dynamic but still narrow enough that it’s maneuverable, it’s shape is useful without being radical, etc. it’s a good ski

Weight won’t matter a ton especially if you’re still growing
